
Holger Lang is an Austrian artist, director, and producer dedicated to various media. He specifically focuses on animation but also works in other media-based areas like documentaries, experimental film, expanded cinema and audio-visual installations. He has been working on cultural and commercial projects for more than 25 years with his production company, collaborating with creative partners nationally and internationally. His own work has been shown at various festivals, film series and events. Since 2011, he has been organizing and curating the international film festival "Under_the_Radar" in Vienna, where he shows a broad selection of animated films, emphasizing exploratory and experimental productions. He has been teaching animation for various academic institutions and presented Austrian animation at venues around the world; he also works as a curator and organizer of cinema programs for several institutions. For more than ten years, he has been a board member of ASIFA Austria and also on the board of the "Emile - European Animation Awards" and the Künstlerhaus Vereinigung Vienna. He is also a long-time member of the ADA-Austrian Directors Association. He works on international site-specific media-art projects as a member of the artist collective mutual-loop. He is a co-organizer of SCANNER, the global animation symposium at Animafest Zagreb and regularly participates in networking and lobbying events related to the collaboration, production and promotion of European animation.
